Ebay Seller Update Spring 2010 – New Pricing Overview Video by Griff
February 4, 2010 by seacoastbargainSelling on Amazon is Easy Money
December 20, 2009 by seacoastbargain
I must say that I am a loyal Ebay seller and fought selling on Amazon for quite some time. However, as the books and Hallmark ornaments started to accumulate, I realized I needed another selling venue. Using Terapeak, I could tell these things were not selling well on Ebay.
I listed all the things that had been sitting on my Ebay shelves and was surprised at how easy it was. Just using the Barcode number on the items, it input all the information. All I have to do is include condition of the item and any comments. In the comment section, I usually add “non-smoking home” as well as any other helpful info.
Then I click “List” and it is up on the site!
I’ve already made some good money on Amazon. One of the best things Amazon does is give an upfront shipping credit.
You don’t pay a single penny to list either…no insertion fees!

5 Ways to Dress Up Your Ebay Listing
November 19, 2009 by seacoastbargainWith all the competition on Ebay, it is a great idea to Dress Up Your Ebay Listings. Here are Five Ways to Do That:
1) Add a Template – I use Auctiva which has hundreds of Templates. I try to use one that fits the type of auction item. For example, if I’m selling a Kitchen Item, I use a Kitchen Template. If I’m selling a Holiday Item, I use that particular holiday color or a Holiday template.
2) Use Spell Check – Nothing turns a buyer off more than misspelling. It is sloppy and suggests you are not a top-notch buyer.
3) Use Bullet Points – Buyers have short attention spans. It is easier to read bullet points and long, never-ending paragraphs.
4) Add Video – It is so very easy to add video with a digital camera that takes video and You Tube. I have an earlier post on how to do this. Also, Auctiva lets you add a scrolling marquee as seen in my listings.
5) Add More than one Photo – Give the Buyer the best experience of “holding” the item in their hand as they would in a brick and mortar store.

4 Easy Steps to Adding Video into your Ebay Listing
October 24, 2009 by seacoastbargainI’ve been experimenting with adding video to my ebay listings. It is a great choice if you are selling a musical or animated item.
Right now I have a dancing, gobbling Plush Turkey that sings “Deck the Halls” listed on Ebay. I typed up a regular Ebay listing, and then added a video to the listing like this:
1) I did a short video with sound using my digital camera.
2) I uploaded the video to You Tube.
3) I changed my view of listing to HTML and embedded the you tube code into my listing.
4) I uploaded my listing onto Ebay!
That easy!
Top 10 Tips for Getting Great Detailed Seller Ratings ( DSRs) on Ebay
October 15, 2009 by seacoastbargain
Here are My Top 10 Tips I offer Ebay sellers for getting Great Detailed Seller Ratings. I’d be glad to hear your thoughts as well.
1) Write Descriptions that PAINT A PICTURE for your buyer. You want the buyer to have as close of an experience to holding the item as you can.
2) Take as many photographs as it takes to accurately show your Item.
3) Always disclose all blemishes and imperfections in the description. Hiding these will only anger the buyer when they receive the item and is deceptive.
4) Put a positive ending statement in your description. For example, I end my description with “Good Luck and Happy Bidding!”
5) Ship promptly. If you can ship within one day of payment reaching you, that is great! Buyers LOVE Fast Shipping!
6) Package the item carefully. Take your time. Think like the buyer. What will this look like when the buyer receives it?
7) Always hand write a “Thank You” on the Invoice.
Use tissue paper or gift wrap on items that don’t need bubble wrap and packing peanuts. I just sent off a plush toy wrapped in tissue paper and sealed with a smiling face sticker.
9) Always answer complaints promptly. If the buyer wants a refund GIVE IT!
10) Use The Golden Rule in your customer service. Treat Others As You Want to be Treated!

When to start and end an Ebay Auction
September 30, 2009 by seacoastbargainI’ve been using a particular strategy for starting and ending Ebay auctions that work for me.
I do 7 day auctions (for the most part) that begin Sunday evenings 10pm Eastern Time. That means the auctions
end Sunday evenings 10 ET and 7pm ET.
Why? Well, most folks are at home Sunday nights. The weekend is winding down. The kids are in bed. And they are
hanging out on the computer.
Others may disagree, but I’ve found this to be the best strategy for me.
When I do my completed item searches on Terapeak, I find my theory is comfirmed.
What do you do?
Selling Legos by the Pound on Ebay
September 26, 2009 by seacoastbargainOne of the best sellers on Ebay are Legos by the Pound. Can you believe it?![]()
Ebay Sellers will buy them at top price. It isn’t unusual to find a tub or box of legos at yard sales for $5 -$10 dollars.
Today, I bought a box for $3. At the next sale, the folks had kids things out. I decided to ask if they had any legos.
Well the woman went to her basement and brought out TWO boxes of Legos including many Star War lego vehicles. What a prize!
Now my job tomorrow will be to organize, photograph and list them on Ebay.
FUN FUN!
